Do you know any easy way to read the version number (using XEffort or IVF or otherwise) of another file (i.e. not the current app)?
I want to be able to check whether users have the latest version of my apps installed. The latest version is available to users from a server. Currently, each app checks the server, and notifies the user when they are out of date.
I now want to write an app that checks the other apps, so that users can tell they are out of date before they start the app. This is particularly important for my DLL's which are accessed from Excel using VBA, as some users workbooks are intolerant to bad data.
